I'm feeling very introspective right now.
Been thinking a lot about WT & it's entire world and I have juice to finish the first draft and even more ideas for the rewrite.
I have two other book ideas set in the same world as WT. I'm even resurrecting the first book I ever wrote which is super exciting. The story was shit but the characters were brilliant.
Anyway that's just what I'm doing as of now on the writing front. I still have tons of finals and tests to deal with so that's annoying but hopefully between studying for the ACT I can fit in writing time or writing breaks.
So much work to do. I freaking have speech nationals this weekend and I 100% don't want to go because a) I'm so tired of speech (I love it but it's been like six months at least) and b) it's not even out of state.
I created a tumblr specifically for inspiration. You can click here or type in: www.swollentonsils.tumblr.com
So that's fun.
Advice I'm going to give you: READ IN YOUR GENRE.
I've begun reading this again:

Advice I'm going to give you: READ IN YOUR GENRE.
I've begun reading this again:
Which as it happens is a YA High Fantasy. I had some inspiration for WT before starting this, but I for sure feel more into it. I feel like slipping back into fantasy writing won't be hard after reading it. And it provides inspiration. There's a fine line between being inspired and downright copying ideas, so I urge you to be careful.
If you're writing Teen Fiction, go read some teen fiction.
If you're writing a dystopian, read some dystopian.
Even if you don't need the inspiration, reading in your genre is the best thing you can do as a writer.
Adios muchachos. Much to do. Little time to do it.
