Will I Keep Posting on Wattpad?

This is something I want to address because there have been some writers I follow recently that have stated that there are things they don't want to post on Wattpad for different reasons.

One of them being plagiarism.

Obviously that is a HUGE issue and it has been more prevalent on Wattpad recently. At first I was considering not to continue posting things because of plagiarism, but a wise bunny who has been plagiarized basically told me that that's something that shouldn't stop me from posting on Wattpad because even published books get plagiarized.

And that's a really logical argument.

So far, it hasn't happened to me. Thankfully. Once again, always report to me if you see my stories on a website other than Wattpad.

But I won't let it stop me from posting on Wattpad. Wattpad is very good at taking down plagiarized works and they're very fast at responding to the tickets I've sent when I've seen plagiarized work on Wattpad.

So basically because of my faith in Wattpad and my faith in my fans, I will not let plagiarism stop me from posting.

Another reason I've noticed is publishing

So some authors don't want to post certain works because they're afraid having it online will hurt their chances of getting published.

For me, I don't think that's a very good assumption. Seriously! The amount of books that are being published from Wattpad (The kissing booth and After are both good examples) prove that the publishing company doesn't care as long as it sells.

Also a lot of my stories will change so much, it won't even matter. I'm changing titles, changing names, changing the plot.

So I'm not really worried about that part. Even for stories that aren't going to change that much, I just don't feel like it's that serious? When I go and try and get it publish I'll either delete the story or make all the chapters blank? And who knows, at this point I've lost steam for the whole idea of becoming a writer and so half the things I post on Wattpad will probably never be in print.

Just because of the amount of books that have been published from wattpad (and 50 shades was a fanfic originally) I don't feel like having it on Wattpad will hurt my chances.

So really, I don't think that should keep you from posting. But I mean if it does, whatever.

I just don't see the point.

So to answer the question yes I will continue posting on Wattpad.

Certain things, I won't be posting however:

The WT rewrite

The UP rewrite (should it happen)

my first nano (also rewritten)

the original draft of my first book (I think I'm going to resurrect it but change literally everything)

Basically anything being rewritten, I won't post (aside from TNS & potentially Circuited--haven't decide with that one).

I am leaning towards not posting the Circuited rewrite for a lot of reasons (but we'll see).

Basically that's how I look at both issues that are keeping other wattpaders from either uploading certain projects or posting at all.
