Hey, look! A real blog topic! Woot.
Okay, so today we will be comparing and contrasting the, ugh speaking (er, typing) like a real person is incredibly difficult. I'm so informal with this blog my god. Anyway, we will look at why WT is so much harder for me to write than ID.

VS.
So what's a big difference between the two? For one, ID is an urban fantasy and WT is a high fantasy, which takes a lot of time to write. ID is first person, whereas WT is in third person limited. But I mainly write third person, so first person is actually harder for me because I feel like I'm just being too inside of the characters head.
(which I totally am in the BA books)
- With ID, I feel "pressure" I suppose with A LOT more fans reading it. I try not to make it suck. Hopefully I'm succeeding.
- On the other hand, I have real publishing aspirations for wT so I want to make it really good and plot hole-less.
- But, I have a SUPER detailed plan with WT & I was sort of bs-ing my way through ID just writing with the spirit of the pants.
- Right now, a lot more is happening in ID, but the rising action is supposed to kick start in WT in a chapter or two. IF I'D FREAKING WRITE IT.
- Meanwhile, the rising action has already began in ID
- Also, I have the advantage of this being a sequel so I'm used to the characters
- Wt is told in four different POV's
- ID is told only in Muffy's, so I've had time to get into her voice
- I try harder to make WT super descriptive
- I go off on tangents in Muffy's POV.
- Again, I have more reader's to motivate me for ID
- Whereas, it's been over 5 months, and I don't feel super duper guilty that i haven't posted. I mean I have a few readers. Most of which are either busy or also reading my other stuff
Argh. okay so I was hoping this would help me, but I think I'm more confused.
So I think ID is easier, and I whip out the chapters faster, because a) more is happening right now b) more people care about that book and c) I don't feel like every sentence needs to be perfect. Not that the Wyvern's Tale is perfect. But ya know what I mean.
Argh.
Well, I think I'm going to write another post on planning. One that is more detailed & explaining how it helps me write and yadda yadda yadda.
